The White Shirt

For the longest time I wanted to find the ‘perfect’ white shirt. Something that wasn’t too long or too short as I usually like to tuck my tops in jeans or trousers whenever I can. And as I am more on the bustier side, I needed something that would fit me well across the bust. Most of the time I find shirts gape on me, which in my opinion is not a great look!

I had been on the hunt for a little while and I happened to find this simple, yet chic one from H&M. Luckily they had it in my size, and at the bargain price of £12.99, I just couldn’t leave it.

A simple white shirt is a key piece in any woman’s wardrobe and is so versatile. I thought it would be fun to show you all how I would style this shirt in 4 different ways:

Date Night:

I thought I would start the first outfit idea with an exciting one! And what better way to kick it off with date night!

I bought this skirt a few years ago in the sale from Miss Selfridge. I always tend to pull it out when I need to jazz up my outfit and the pink floral detail definitely helps with that. These New Look sandals have stood the test of time and are 100% one of my most comfortable shoes to date. Adding gold accessories makes the look more dressed up and gives off a more expensive feel to the outfit. Just add a clutch and your good to go!

Work Outfit:

I guess this would be an easy option right? As you can never go wrong with a white shirt at the office. But I thought I would add it a bit more pezazz with the necklace. It adds a fun element to the whole outfit as well as a pop of colour.

Styled along with some black trousers and some brogues to add chic and sophistication to this ensemble. Again I pulled out my gold accessories to tie in with the buckle on the belt and on the shoes. If you want, you could add a black blazer to complete the look.

Garden Party:

Now that the weather is warming up, what better way than meeting with family and friends for a bbq or garden party?

The blue pleated skirt gives off a dressed up vibe but the shirt still gives you that relaxed look. Flat shoes are a must for comfort and no one wants to get heels stuck in the grass! Have a play around with jewellery, and add some fun earrings to make the outfit a bit more interesting. I added another clutch with this one, but you could easily go for a bigger bag.

Brunch:

And finally, brunch with friends or family. This is one of my favourite things to do when I have some ‘me time’ and we can go anywhere from afternoon tea to lunch in the city.

I added a scarf with this outfit to add more interest on the top half. As this is quite a casual look for me, I thought the scarf was just the right amount of style. Comfy mum jeans and white mules also go hand in hand. To add a bit of colour, I paired this outfit with a tan bag. As it is quite a neutral colour, it goes nicely with the rest of the outfit.

I hope you found these outfit ideas inspirational and that you will be able to incorporate them in to your own wardrobe. What was your favourite look? Please let me know down below.
